I’m a journalist from Wichita, Kansas and graduate of Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, Calif. I currently work as a city government reporter for the Santa Maria Times in Santa Maria, California.
My love for journalism started in high school when I found it could help me combine my two favorite things: sports and writing. Since then, I’ve met goals of becoming editor of my college newspaper, reporting in Washington, D.C. during an election year and building a resume of which I’ve very proud.
I have covered multiple beats, including local government, entertainment and sports. That has led me to develop an exhausting lists of interests, but also means I’m able to take on any story assignment, and will genuinely find joy in learning something new, no matter the topic. My favorite news to consume usually has to do with foreign policy, college basketball or music.
